The sounds that are problematic are the ones that contain 'Eudora' in their name as they were created using a sound synthesizer that Leopard does not support.Thunderbird makes email better for you, bringing together speed, privacy and the latest technologies. These are the sounds Eudora plays when you get new mail or Eudora needs your attention, or are played by Filters. Notice to OS X 10.5 'Leopard' users: In order for Macintosh Eudora to work well under OS X 10.5.x 'Leopard', you need to turn off the use of specific sounds in Eudora. You can switch between the Light mode and the Sponsored mode at any time. Light mode includes a sponsor image or logo, but no rotating advertising however, you only get access to Eudora's basic features. Paid mode allows you to use all features of Eudora e-mail client without the advertisements once a payment has been made. Sponsored mode allows you to use all features of Eudora at no charge, but displays advertisements. This program can operate in any of three user-selectable modes. Other features include IMAP support, the ability to display animated GIFs in HTML messages, and automatic mail retrieval in the background. It also allows regular expressions in filters and features an automatic spelling checker, as well as a speech option that will even read your e-mail out loud.
